Moving Forward
Breakout Description: Moving Forward will engage students in a dialogue regarding the subject of racial diversity in America today. This session will tackle topics related to diversity, unity, and the state of race relations today, with a focus on the Truth for developing and sustaining strong relationships, and communities, in the coming years.

Biography: Charles Wilson was born and raised in Texas, he graduated from Grace University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education in 1999. Mr. Wilson has spent 20 years working in urban school settings, the last 16 with the Omaha Street School, a Christian alternative high school in North Omaha. Mr. Wilson coached men’s and women’s basketball at Grace University and Nebraska Christian College, and he has lead basketball mission trips across the U.S. and overseas. He is married to Lisa, and has three daughters, Aaliyah, Hope and Zaria.
After practicing law in Colorado for 12 years, John Parsons moved his family back to Nebraska in 1998 to start the Omaha Street School. Mr. Parsons, along with his wife Lorri, founded OSS after volunteering at an inner-city high school in Denver. After 18 years, Mr. Parsons stepped aside from the street school, turning over the reins to new leadership in 2016. He has since helped develop Omaha Bridges Out of Poverty, a poverty alleviation initiative that targets under-resourced adults. John has one son, Jared, a Navigator staff member. |
